Putting IT & Network Administrators in the Driver's Seat
To assist IT and network administrators, Radio IP MTG™ offers tools to help more effectively manage and control their mobile data activities and in turn create a seamless, interoperable environment.
- Mobile DHCP - Radio IP Software introduces Mobile DHCP for wireless networks. Standard DHCP is too chatty for use on private wireless networks and adds extra data traffic to public networks. Radio IP Mobile DHCP solves the problem by removing the chattiness of the protocol, and streamlining transmissions, giving administrators of any wireless network the same functionality and simplified management control over IP addresses.
- Policy Management - The Forward & Filtering feature of Radio IP MTG allows IT administrators to determine over which networks and under which conditions an application may transmit data, giving them unprecedented control. Controls can be achieved on destination IP addresses, destination ports, applications and networks.
For example, software updates for specific applications could be restricted from transmitting over a narrowband network to prevent overloading. When using Forward & Filtering with Radius, you can create groups which will give you the flexibility to have group-specific policies.
- Redundancy - Radio IP MTG provides a hot standby redundancy solution through the use of Microsoft® Cluster Service. Hot standby systems are used for mission critical applications or in cases where data is changed frequently. Should Radio IP MTG stop working on a particular server, or if the server is brought offline for maintenance purposes, the workload is automatically shifted to another server in order to provide continuous service.
- Statistics - Radio IP MTG provides easy to use tools to effectively manage a fleet of mobile devices. Statistical and analytical tools give network administrators the ability to rearrange their statistical interface in a way that serves them best. View packets, last access, networks, drivers, applications, IP addresses and other data in real time for faster response and effective troubleshooting.
- Network Dashboard - A centralized message center displays critical errors or network status changes using the Activity View. For instance, when a network disconnects or a registration is accomplished a message appears to notify the user. From an administration perspective, these messages can make troubleshooting more effective.
- Windows Event Logs - Working together with the Activity View, standard Windows Event Logs improve network troubleshooting. Check the event log to view critical errors that have been detected and other relevant information.
- Simplified Installation - During the initial software set-up and installation process, Radio IP MTG is automatically configured and requires minimal user intervention. After installation, there's no need to reboot the computer, the software starts automatically.
