Radio IP Software

"We had a number of fire departments that wanted to have mobile data computers. I had seen a demo of Radio IP MTG and was pleased with the way the product works. The software is very robust and reliable. It enables us to have IP based dispatch CAD servers and IP based mobile clients connect. We have various departments on the network. Radio IP has given San Diego County the capability of using IP based software for a variety of departments."

Radio IP MTG™ is a software solution that provides continuous wireless connectivity with the security of a Mobile VPN over any wireless network. It enables you to extend your corporate LAN to a wireless network on most private or public systems. The software manages a set of wireless network controllers and relays appropriate data to the mobiles units on the road. The client-server software is transparent to the mobile worker, running as a background software application, and provides powerful management tools for wireless network administrators.

The software is a router or gateway; it does not hook directly to a corporate LAN. Instead, it extends a separate network segment in your IP address space which regroups the Server and all mobile clients running the software Client. Clients send their traffic to their gateway and the later forwards requests to their appropriate servers on the LAN. Likewise, LAN applications can open connections to mobiles.

The software provides multiple key functions based our expertise and specific algorithms:
  • Simplicity: Connection is easy and is kept open even if wireless coverage is lost;
  • Resilience: The roaming feature will maintain the connection while moving between networks;
  • Security: The laptop or handheld device will be authenticated even before logging on to Windows;
  • Optimization: Data compression and optimization protocols allow applications to be more efficient;
  • Technologies: Support for mobile broadband, satellite and low bandwidth networks  (TETRA, DataTac)
